Fun Summer Date Ideas

We've got your cure for the Summer time blues! Summer is a great time of the year for romantic, outdoor dates. Here are a few wonderful ideas for warm weather romance and fun. Try one out with your sweetheart...

1. Life's a Picnic. Grab an old blanket or sheet, a flashlight, and a guide to constellations and stars (easily picked up at the local library.) Go to a local park, the beach, a field near an airport, or any other interesting location. Pack a loaf of bread, round of brie or other cheese of your choice, bottle of a favorite drink, etc to snack on during your astronomy lesson. You'll never want the night to end.

2. Summer Showers. Live in a spot where it rains every afternoon? Have a water gun fight outdoors. Nothing like getting soaked while getting soaked. Besides, every woman secretly dreams about re-enacting that scene from "Breakfast in Tiffany's..." Rent the movie after your showdown at the waterlogged corral...

3. Explore your artistic side. Go to a park armed with sketch pads and draw pics of each other. Then, close your eyes and try self-portraits. Or, take a camera instead of a pad and have a photo shoot. Frame the drawings or photos from the afternoon for a nice memory.

4. A Dream House. Volunteer together with a local Habitat for Humanity. Give a Saturday morning to painting or hammering and sawing. It will be good for your relationship, you heart, and your community.

5. Support the locals. Scour the paper for local Little League games, tennis tournaments, or community plays and go to see one together. Eat hot dogs at the game, or go out for an icecream cone afterwards.
