"The rule for them to continue having camping trips was
'don't disturb the other campers.'" Jennifer explained.
And while she and her husband often emerged late Saturday
morning to find milk in sleeping bags or cereal on the floor, Jennifer
says it was well worth a few hours of peace and snuggling on Saturday
morning.
Baby Sitting Swapping
"I hate to leave my kids with a sitter. It's so expensive and it always
makes feel uneasy," Melanie was telling her friend Beth one day as they
watched their sons playing together on the park playground.
"I know," Beth agreed. "Thanks again for watching Becca last week while
I was at the dentist," She said, bouncing her baby girl on her knee.
"No problem. Actually, I was hoping maybe you could take Alex and Joy
next Wednesday while I get the car repaired?"
It started out with swapping sitting for errands and appointments, but
soon Beth and Melanie extended their trade of baby sitting to date nights.
Every other Friday one would take the other's children. They found this
worked out perfectly -- their children were close in age and loved to
play together. Beth and Melanie had the peace of mind of knowing their
children were in good hands and were free to enjoy the romantic evening
with their husbands. Of course, this idea has limitations. What if you
