- You shouldn't HAVE to take her to an expensive restaurant...set up your house with candles and soft music and a tablecloth and cook her dinner. Even a simple pasta would work; buy dessert from the bakery in the grocery store. We know not everyone's a great cook, so have a backup plan. Even if you start a fire, the effort of trying is worth more than an expensive dinner.
