Make fortune cookies and be sure to make the fortune inside personal, starting with her/his name on the fortune. Give to a waiter without the other knowing before dinner and have it served at the end of dinner with the check. My wife was so shocked but loved it, especially when the fortune started with her name. This was not my own idea but it was a good one. (Geno)
