For a special occasion (e.g. birthday, anniversary). Make a coupon book for him or her. Put in different coupons such as this entitles you to one night on the town. They can be very simple, such as doing the laundry.

I did this one!
I did this romantic tip and it worked out quite well. I created a coupon book with things such as, "One Date to the Movies," "One Night at the Coffeeshop," and "One Fall Saturday With No College Football." The last one was especially hard! This worked out great, she loved it.
